Get to know the team of therapists that are here to help
At Estes Therapy, we understand that each client walks into our office with a different experience and background, and the same is true of our therapist team. We’re not a “one size fits all” practice. Our MFT-licensed therapists and Associate Marriage and Family Therapists are all excellent at what they do, but finding a good personality match between you and your counselor is the best way to help you achieve permanent, positive change. Read our bios below to learn more about us and choose the therapist that sounds like the right one for you.

My name is Bonnie Cardillo, my pronouns are she/her/hers, and I’m a third-year graduate trainee at the University of San Diego. I’ll be earning my Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in Spring 2021. First off, I would like you to know that I aim to provide a warm counseling space for you and your loved one to process without judgment – where all thoughts and feelings, even partially formed or tentatively felt ones, are heard and acknowledged. As a counselor who listens with empathy and cultural humility, I will approach your relationship with genuine curiosity to help you notice and shift patterns intentionally to meet your goals. Deciding to seek help for yourself and your relationship is an act of self-love that takes courage, and I applaud you for trusting yourself and potentially me with making positive changes to your mental and relational health.

Psychotherapist James Finley says, “The tyranny of suffering lasts only as long as it takes for compassion to show up on the scene.” Many who find themselves reading this may experience themselves as subject to the ‘tyranny of suffering’ in some way and may be searching for a compassionate presence in which they can feel safe, be deeply seen, attentively listened to, and profoundly accepted.

My name is Jacob Munhoz and I invite you to consider allowing me to be that compassionate presence for you. I am so pleased to have been invited to join Estes Therapy as a Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist and to have the opportunity to work with couples and individuals in this committed, professional and supportive setting. Available Tuesday & Thursday evening | Saturday morning
Life and relationships are hard! They don’t come with instruction manuals and we rarely have an open or constructive dialogue about how it’s going. My name is Drew Erickson, and my role is not to ‘fix you’ or tell you what to do, but rather help you access your own wisdom and collaborate with you to make the difficult stuff a bit easier. I believe that people are not problems – problems are problems. These problems often obscure our own knowledge and convince us that we are broken or stuck. My hope is to show you that you are an expert in your own life.
As a former elementary school teacher and participant in therapy as an adolescent, I recognize the gaps in formal education and the value of mental health. So much of what we are expected to do, feel, and think is supposed to be learned intuitively and in isolation rather than explicitly and in the community.

If you are in need of quick relationship skills and tools training, or patient long term processing and restructuring, I will be there as a support, a guide, and a safe space. Can you imagine going 6-7 years with a broken bone before going to the doctor? Therapy is a space where you can work towards creating your own version of your best life. I am Jacqueline Wielick and I am here to help you improve your relationship.

From affairs to mid-life issues, I help couples and individuals sift through what is weighing them down so they can feel, think, and make decisions with clarity and confidence. When it comes to relationships, think of me as calling in reinforcements: I am here to help you untangle, rebuild, and reconnect. Think of me as your relationship consultant, I’m your neutral third party that can help you untangle the emotions and help you figure out what’s really going on.
It can be frustrating when the relationship is going in circles and nothing seems to get it on track. I see so many couples that continue trying to fix the problems, but they keep ending up at a dead end. It can be very frustrating and exhausting. I help couples navigate through all the complicated areas of love relationships: financial, sexual, verbal and non-verbal communication, interpersonal dynamics, and more. If you are looping over and over within the same arguments, if you feel disillusioned and frustrated… it doesn’t have to be this way! There is hope. In the counseling, we will get you the tools to work together, stop fighting and start enjoying your relationship.
