Although it can be daunting to see a therapist for the first time, you are here for a reason and it’s time to find some healing in a safe and accepting environment. Many times people often develop destructive patterns to try to ease suffering and can end up getting stuck without knowing where to turn or how to safely let others see their struggles and pain. This is where Deborah Mori, LMFT, a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, can help you discover your strengths and explore what is getting in your way from the life you want.
Deborah’s top primary theoretical approaches include EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) and DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy), which have been significant components in helping people find success through a history of abuse, childhood neglect, PTSD, unmanageable emotions, and low self-esteem. She provides individual therapy for adolescents and adults, families, and couples for issues such as trauma, anxiety, depression, family/relationship conflict, and eating disorders. It is Deborah’s highest honor to “see” you with compassionate eyes and a kind heart to help you find your way to a thriving life.
While earning her Masters degree, Deborah Mori worked with children and adolescents in two east county schools, counseling students with mood and anxiety disorders, suicidal thoughts, sex trafficking, unmanageable emotions, trauma, and life transitions. Since then, Deborah has provided therapy for adolescents & adult women struggling with eating disorders and co-occurring mental health issues in a residential facility and private practice. She also has numerous extended training in EMDR, DBT, Solution-Focused Therapy, ACT, Family Systems, Mindfulness-based therapy, and Trauma-Informed CBT.
In any free time, therapist Deborah Mori can be found exploring San Diego with her husband, teenage son and two large dogs. She loves comedy, painting, cooking, and can frequently be found with a book in her hands.
