Want to know more about MFT Echo? I sat down with her and chatted. Here's a bit more that will help you get to know her better.

Although I decided I wanted to become a Marriage and Family Therapist while I was getting my Bachelor’s in Psychology, I also knew that I didn’t want to do it right away; I wanted to gain lots of life experience first.  So I traveled, lived in different places and other countries, and pursued creative and career endeavors before going back to school to get my Master’s Degree.  Then, I felt ready and equipped to help others along their personal journey as well.

Anyone who is considering counseling should just do it!  It is a great safe place, with someone who is outside the bubble of your universe, who can confidentially be a sounding board to help you along your way.

I love working with depression.  I like to sprinkle my client in tidbits of factoids about how depression functions, not just on you, but on pretty much everybody with depression; so you don’t feel alone.  Then I help you to find hope in your world, and try to lighten the depression one day at a time, lifting the mood up like a floating balloon.  Additionally, I work with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, anxiety, and addiction.

When I am not working, I have fun exploring the simple things, playing with my daughter and having fun with my family.  We love going to the park, beach, swimming, and when I get a little alone time, I love doing yoga.

If I were not a therapist, I would be a filmmaker, which I was for many years.  I believe that the common element in both these professions is the human story, where the character or client develops over time.
